Hiphop vs Rap : Is the love gone?
56Hip hop
A distinct creative musical form employing poetry spoken to a beat pattern woven with careful and meaningful sampling techniques. Hip hop is made up of four distinct elements. Those are DJing, Emceeing, B-boy dancing, Graffiti. Beat boxing can be added to that list. All are art forms. Hip Hop is not manufactured. Hip Hop is the teacher. More commonly referred to as “Droppin Science” , hip hop teaches lessons that anyone can learn from and relate to. As oppose to rap, which is a show-off. Hip Hop talks about everything negative and making it positive, including the gangsta / drug dealer lifestyle. Emcee's rhyme for the love of the music. While the beats are produced by DJ's, Hip Hop is the original culture that is the foundation for its numerous expressions: The principles of true hip-hop have been forsaken. Just listen to the lyrics of Krs-1, Eric B. and Rakim, Common or Mos Def. Learn and be entertained at the same time.
Rap
Obscene Nursery Rhymes to a canned beat with samples ripped off
from serious artists, the act of rhyming to a beat. This form of hip-hop
is a manufactured synthetic designed used to appeal to the shallow
minded and vain. (The masses) Rappers rhyme about gold jewelry, freaky
women, and gang-banging on machine-produced beats. Rap, unfortunately,
talks about material things such as jewelry, clothes, shoes, falling
"in love" with a stripper, popping your collar , and anything random
that doesn’t make sense but gets popular due to repeatedly air play on
radio stations. The people in that industry don't really care about the
history or the true meaning of hip hop. You can also tell the difference
by hearing the beats and lyrics. Just listen closely to the beats and
lyrics of such artist like Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka, and Young Jeezy,
Souljah Boy. There is very little if any lyrical talent, creativity or
depth in the lyrics. To make up for their lack of music talent, they
come up with dances that actually came out decades ago. Most don’t last
very long but there are dozens of them and the labels have a lot of
dimes. It's all contractual and about money making and exploiting the
business.
Bottom line Rap and these modern day rappers
are GARBAGE, they sound the same, look the same and rap the same. Hip
Hop , I don’t know if its dead but its dying , due to rap.
